Joel Ross of ABATE Local 24 sent giftcards up to Chico Friday, November 30, 2018. Here is what was said:
Nice meeting you the other night.
I am back in Chico and got a hold of my Harley rider friend Jack Peters.
Your timing was perfect. I gave him the 16 Walmart gift cards and the Chico Harley Riders are doing their annual Butte County Toy Run and they are covering the fire victims of Paradise- Magalia. Your gift cards are going directly to those in need from the Camp Fire.
He told me to thank you very much for your contribution, it is greatly appreciated.
All the best.
ABATE Local 24 gifted Tarpey PTC with 40 turkeys!
Tarpey Parent Club fills 40 boxes each year for families in our community in need. This enables less fortunate families to have a feast on Thanksgiving. This year ABATE Local 24 came through in the gift of 40 turkeys to do in the 40 food boxes! Thank you, ABATE Local 24!
Our loss...Heaven's gain...
Glenda Karen (Austin) Ross was born at Sierra Hospital in Fresno, CA
July 21, 1959. She passed away peacefully January 18, 2018 at her home
near Prather, CA. Glenda grew up on the family ranch where she developed
passion for horses, livestock, and the western way of life. Growing up she was an active member of Table Mountain 4-H club. In high school Glenda was an active member of Sierra FFA where she showed livestock and won Grand
Champion steer at the Big Fresno Fair in 1975. In her time at Sierra High She participated in Mothers Day Rodeos, Parliamentary Procedure, and played
on the girl’s basket ball team. Upon graduation from Sierra High School in 1977 Glenda attended Reedley College majoring in Animal Sciences, then Lyles College of Beauty. Glenda worked in the cosmetology field throughout
her adult life, spending 10 years at Carrington Point Retirement facility. Glenda met her husband, Joel at the Clovis Rodeo Dance. They married May
21, 1983. They spent summers of their younger years together at High Sierra Pack Station, where Glenda learned to pack. She then became a Team member
of the High Sierra Girls Pack team and competed at Bishop Mule Days. Glenda and Joel became members of the Clovis Rodeo Association. They both enjoyed
helping to put on the Clovis Rodeo and being a part of such a fun event that brought them together. As Joel was always an avid Harley rider, Glenda enjoyed the life on the road with her partner Joel journeying many, many
miles exploring different parts of the United States on the back of a motorcycle. This led her to being a member of the ABATE #24 chapter for the last 6 years.
